Dr. Tom Deacon was born in Galveston, Texas and grew up near Houston, Texas. He attended college at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Chemistry and a Minor in Biology. Dr. Deacon attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine Degree. He completed his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Deacon has practiced pediatric medicine in DeSoto, Texas since joining Pediatrics Southwest in 1990. He is a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Deacon is a member of the medical staff at Children's Hospital in Dallas and Methodist Charlton Hospital.
